We are getting settled into our new home and the main streets are becoming familiar. Of course I took care of the important things right away-joining the local library and locating the book stores.
This week, the kids and I are holding the fort with the dogs and Zoey. My daughter and son-in-law are off for a well-deserved week in Cuba. It's their first time away together since their honeymoon.
We have really been rewarding ourselves lately. On Saturday our three generations of ladies went to the Kingfisher Spa for water treatment, manis and pedis. It was totally relaxing except for the mental notes I kept taking to use in my next Island mystery. Murder at the Island Spa is about two thirds of the way through first draft and I've been dawdling for the past two weeks. Part of it was the moving chaos and part of it was an urge to take a slight change of direction in the plot I had outlined. I think my trip finalized my decision and now I have my mojo back for MATIS, as I have it nicknamed.
In the interim, I began another story. I like to have two projects on the go at the same time. That way if I'm stalled on one, I have no excuse to take a day off-I just switch to the other. Tentative title for the new suspense story is Five Can Keep a Secret but that's only a working title.
Now with my renewed enthusiasm after my day at the spa, I'm back to MATIS. The new addition to the plotline was another murder. Sometimes I worry about myself when I can take such joy in planning murders.
